Lake Farm Campground, near Madison, Wisconsin --> Point Beach State Park, (on the shore of Lake Michigan) Wisconsin

July 25, 2004

In the morning we left Madison to go to Door County, what is supposed to be the prettiest part of Wisconsin. We drove on towards Lake Michigan, passing places like Jericho and Kiel. Most of the way we drove past farmlands as you see below.

That day David just drove and drove and drove and I just sat and read the Sunday newspaper. By the time I got done it was evening and we decided to go and camp by Lake Michigan.

The lake was amazingly big. It looked exactly like the sea, with white sandy beach, beach grass and little waves. The only different thing was that it did not smell like the sea because it was fresh water.

We settled down in a state park right on the beach and took a nice little walk by the lake. We found two digging things - one shovel and one measuring cup. This became the starting point of the next day...
