F.W. Kent Park, near Iowa City, Iowa --> Yellowstone Lake State Park, Wisconsin

July 22, 2004

After a good night´s sleep David set to adjust the valves and I went to take some pictures of the wildflowers. The sky was clouding up and we could hear thunder in the distance. We tried to get everything done before the rain started - car work done, things put in their places and ready to go and take a shower. We go everything but the shower done!

We drove off through Iowa City towards the state of Wisconsin. As we drove the pouring rain thinned out gradually and eventually stopped. In a way this was a shame because the rainy weather meant that it was nice and cool outside.

At about 2 o´clock we crossed the Mississippi River and were therefore in Wisconsin! We headed towards the general direction of Madison, a city one of our friends had been raving about. We did not want to push the bus (or ourselves) too hard though so pretty soon we found ourselves a nice state park and settled in for the night.
