In the morning we woke up to the rain. It was grey all around and
looked like it was going to keep raining all day. This meant that it
was going to be cooler! But by the time we drove back to Winterset it
started clearing up.

We had breakfast in this small cafe and it turned out that it had also
been part of the movie - a scene had been filmed inside.

After a little 12 o´clock breakfast we drove on to see the last
two bridges.

Iowa had also some strange town names, like ¨What Cheer.¨

used his other foot.

As looking at all these bridges took quite a bit of
time we did not
drive a lot that day. We hoped to get a nice dinner in the nearby Amana
village (Amana villages are a remainder of Amana colonies, a religious
community of German immigrants, they boast some cool architecture and
old fashioned food) but all we found was overpriced common American
steaks and stuff. Pretty soon we found ourselves a little state (or
county?) park and cooked a nice meal ourselves - zucchini, fresh corn,
soy sausages and tomato all fried together with a lot of garlic and
fresh boiled baby potatoes. And then we called it a day. |
