Next to the entrance of the campground was a prairie with lots of beautiful flowers that I couldn´t identify - for some reason you can´t buy a field guide to the Great Plains States (I have one for the Pacific Northwest and also the Rocky Mountains area)..
Almost all day we just drove towards Omaha where we were to go to the zoo. Unfortunately it was already 4:30 pm (the zoo closed at 5 pm) when we finally got to Omaha (we took a kind of round-and-about way...), so we crossed over a river to Iowa and camped there so that we could go to the zoo the next day.
