Yellowstone National Park (Montana, Idaho, but mostly Wyoming) --> Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

July 05, 2004

On our last day in Yellowstone we got up really early because I wanted to attend a morning photo walk at 7:30 am. Since the place of the walk was quite aways from us, like 30 miles or something, we got up at 5:30. It was all beautiful and foggy, now and then we saw the sun peek through the fog as it was rising. On the road to the Fishing Bridge village we saw elk, deer, buffalo and two coyotes. Morning is definitely the time to see animals.

Our last stop in Yellowstone was in the West Thumb village where we saw some more geysers.

In this area there were geysers right in the lake.

The pictures below are thermophiles of different colors.

The geysers and hot springs at West Thumb were the most amazing blue you can imagine.

And then it was time to leave Yellowstone behind. The last stop in this park was by the side of the road where I took the last pictures of the dead trees of Yellowstone.

And then we left Yellowstone and entered the Grand Teton National Park.

Here is David posing off in his new sweater that I finished during this trip. It was so cold in Yellowstone that we needed to wear woolen sweaters.
